into Lexapro and it's just not working for me. I just gotta clear this cloud of darkness and my doc mentioned he might switch me to Zoloft if no improvement in the Lexapro. I seem to be doing well on it along with welbutrin. take care I started off on Lexapro and had a horrible experience with it-I only stayed on it for a week and then switched to Zoloft. I appreciate anyone's experience in this regard, and/or comparison experiences. The week I was on Lexapro, my anxiety got so bad, I would curl up on the floor and just want to crawl out of my skin. Having to go thru another 3 weeks of testing another med just kills me ... I have used Zoloft for years it worked in the prior years but as for my anxiety has increased I am investigating what else to try. I couldn't carry on a conversation and my heart raced like crazy. my heart raced nonstop and my anxiety had increased, she took me off the Lexapro and switched me to Zoloft. so I'd like to think the switch to Zoloft is the right choice ... We went with Lexapro first because of it's alleged positive effects on anxiety, which I do have. Going to doctor today also the Zoloft made me gain about 10-20 pounds and it does affect your libido I had been on lexapro for awhile years back. but then I felt like It wasn't working enough. I gradually went up to 50 mg of Zoloft and I'm doing fine-I've also made some life style changes-which I would like to think has helped too. Many thanks for your shared experience and wisdom; this site is such a valuable support tool You should be feeling somewhat better. I am on zoloft and I am not doing as well as I want to be. I decided to try other meds because of tv commercials, such as cymbalta and abilify. OH and I take Klonopin as needed-I haven't really needed it in about 3 weeks. I have been on Lexapro for 1 week and it has been awful. Please keep in mind that 25 mg is pretty low, but my body couldn't even tolerate 25 mg at first. But, she started me out on 25mg, then to 50mg and I just started it on 75mg. I see some improvement, but, hopefully when I go back, I can go to 100mg and it will work fine. I've feel so much anxiety and it felt like blood was just pumping way to fast through my whole body. I broke mine in half (pill cutter) and took 12.5 mg for awhile (about a week), then eased up to 25 mg (for about 2 weeks or so) and eventually got up to 50mg. I have had a bad cold for a while now and it has been getting worse, not better. The long nights of couging/hacking up phlegm (sorry, gross I know) finally got to me and I went to see my doctor today. It's a new doctor so I do not have a long relationship with him, but he seemed OK. He said I have an upper respiratory infection and he is concerned it could move to my chest, so he prescribed me a Z-Pak (Zithromax). I did some research and so far it seems to be safe to take while pregnant, and he said it was so I am inclined to trust him... but just curious if anyone here has any first-hand experience with it? I had to take the Z-Pac, along with cough syrup with codeine, and allergy medicine in my first trimester, ALL prescribed by my OB. I've also been given the ok to take sudafed (the real stuff). I was worried, too, especially since it was during the first trimester, but she seems to be doing just fine...bouncing around on my bladder, at the moment. I did notice the z pack didn't seem to work as well as stronger antibiotics, but it was better than nothing! she seems to love jumping around ;) Took Z-pack here too last month! oh and as far as over the counter drugs, here's the safe drug list my dr gave me (I copied and pasted, so I hope it turns out): These over the counter medications have been approved by your physician for use during pregnancy/ breastfeeding.
