    I didn't want to believe it at first because it's supposed to be such a lupus wonder drug. I was even thinking of trying it again to see if the rash was just a one-off thing, but after doing some research I found a study about patients' allergic reactions to Plaquenil and the pictures looked exactly like my rash. I have been on Plaquenil well the generic form-- hydroxychloroquine since October, and for the past about 2 weeks, I have been SEVERELY skin turns red, and it feels like something is biting me. It's bad around my ankles and the tops of my feet, my arms, and I get red blotches and spots on my chest.

    If they're coming and going more than likely it isn't the Plaquenil. From what I understand it is very rare for someone to have an allergic reaction to the Plaquenil and when they do that isn't how it shows up. Hopefull it's not the Plaquenil because this drug is really a very good drug for Lupus. Plaquenil seems to be a "wonder" drug, but I can't take it! Plaquenil is the brand name for the prescription drug hydroxychloroquine. It's used to treat and prevent malaria infection, and to reduce symptoms and progression of autoimmune diseases such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and others.
