    Plaquenil depressed

It's used to treat and prevent malaria infection, and to reduce symptoms and progression of autoimmune diseases such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and others. Malaria is spread by mosquitoes, which transmit the parasites that cause the infection, usually in tropical and subtropical parts of the world.

Plaquenil and Depression - from FDA reports Summary Depression is found among people who take Plaquenil, especially for people who are female, 60+ old, have been taking the drug for 1 - 6 months, also take medication Enbrel, and have Pain. Plaquenil is the brand name for the prescription drug hydroxychloroquine. It's used to treat and prevent malaria infection, and to reduce symptoms and progression of autoimmune diseases such as. This isn't scientific, just my sense after 15+ years of Plaquenil. As for depression, I think Plaquenil is actually a mild cortical stimulant, so people usually feel peppier because of it. BUT your elevated ferritin may be indicating an underlying inflammatory process. I just read, and this was news to me, that ferritin is an "acute phase.

For example, it may be combined with an antibiotic to treat chronic Q-fever, which humans usually catch from farm animals or raw milk. Plaquenil is used to treat other types of infections too.

  3. I can only speak for myself and my personal experience. Plaquenil has helped me on many levels on many days. I think, for me, anyway, the depression and anxiety I often feel is due to the autoimmune issues/sjogrens. I have not noticed an increase in depression/anxiety since being on the plaquenil but that is just me.

First, my mother and sister took plaquenil for lupus with good effect, so I am not just disliking it for no good reason. I also suffer from disabling bipolar disorder. For 25 years, I have gotten hypomanic during spring. Very happy, never depressed. When I started taking Plaquenil, I got a bit depressed but that's not a big deal. I have had chronic, clinical depression my entire life which I am on meds for. The Plaquenil GREATLY effected by depression. I am no longer taking it. If you Google 'Plaquenil Depression' you will see that it has this effects on others. That's how I got to this post! Hopefully there is something else I can try to deal with my symptoms. Plaquenil is sometimes given only once per week. Choose the same day each week to take this medicine if you are on a weekly dosing schedule. Take Plaquenil with a meal or a glass of milk. To prevent malaria Start taking Plaquenil 2 weeks before entering an area where malaria is common. Continue taking the medicine regularly during your stay.

How to Succeed in Plaquenil Screenings Figure 2a and 2b this classic representation of Plaquenil toxicity is a preservation of the outer retinal layers subfoveally with perifoveal loss of the IS/OS junction on both sides of the fovea. Perifoveal IS/OS junction loss is associated with perifoveal outer retinal thinning, resulting in an ovoid appearance in the central retina, creating the flying saucer sign.

Plaquenil and post surgery. Does is mean harder to heal? I have a hernia in my abdomen under my ribs. It is from a surgery 18 months ago - before I was diagnosed with SS. Here is the glitch - Dr. says when one is on Plaquenil - healing from surgery is much more difficult and risky. Has anyone had surgery and complications while on Plaquenil. Doc has not said I would need to go off for surgery.
